The Valle di Ledro is a gem nestled between Lake Garda and the mountains of Trentino, offering a perfect combination of unspoiled nature and historical richness. This verdant valley is characterized by mountain landscapes that are reflected in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Ledro, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking a place rich in culture and traditions.
The history of Ledro Valley is deeply linked to its lake. In 1929, during work to lower the level of the lake, remains of a pile-dwelling village dating from the Bronze Age (ca. 2200-1350 BC) emerged. These finds testify to the ancient human presence in the area and are now enhanced in the Lake Ledro Pile Dwelling Museum, where it is possible to immerse oneself in daily life more than 4,000 years ago. Over the centuries, the valley has seen a succession of different dominations, while keeping intact its traditions and strong ties with the surrounding natural environment.
The Ledro Valley is a paradise for sports and nature lovers. In addition to water activities on the lake, the valley offers numerous hiking and mountain biking trails suitable for beginners and experts alike. The Concei Valley, for example, is crisscrossed by a trail that leads to the Rifugio al Faggio mountain hut, nestled in beech forests and flower-filled meadows. For history buffs, in addition to the Pile Dwelling Museum, it is possible to visit places related to the Great War, with trenches and fortifications still visible along some trails.
